I recently stumbled across this really small, understated Facebook post by audio interface manufacturer RME that led to an even more understated entry on their company forum.
They were simply announcing another feature update to TotalMix FX, the management software for their interfaces.
But what they added literally made me jump in my chair.
This was EXACTLY what I've wanted for years now.
And what I had always wondered why no interface manufacturer ever even spoke about:
Speaker calibration!
EQ, Delay, Volume. On all output channels.
Jaw dropping. I know. 😂
But I’m serious!
It’s actually so useful to have this available in a home studio, that I’d call it a game changer.
In fact it solves a problem, that we literally haven’t had ANY solution for so far:
Correct subwoofer integration. I bet you didn’t see that one coming.
Let me explain why in this week’s video.
